In my experience, many books designed for "absolute beginners" spend maybe a chapter talking to you like a beginner, then start talking to you like you're someone with average intelligence all the sudden. They forget their audience. It becomes normal textbook.
I think it's frustrating. I want to be treated like the idiot I am, dang it.
I assure you that in this book, I will not forget that you're a freaking idiot like me.
The only real requirement is you can read. And if you're downloading and eBook and can't read then I'm not sure what to tell you, friend.
